The truth: I only like empty birdcages with open doors. A few weeks ago i walked upon a sidewalk sale in our neighborhood where a man had three birds in a cage. I gasped outloud and turned away. I’ll never understand the desire to put an animal that knows how to touch the sky behind bars.
