This blog has been a lot of things. A love story. A new adventure. The journey of a women becoming comfortable with who she is and what she believes in.

I don't write here as often as I used to, but the stories I've left on these pages have made me who I am. I come back occasionally to put down thoughts and stories.

There is a beautiful, older lady who runs our favorite greasy spoon breakfast spot with her family. Eddie’s Cafe is located at the corner of Fulton St and Divisadero in the middle of the city. She takes time to put fresh bouquet’s of in-season flowers on the tables and is always dressed so nicely - serving pancakes and pouring coffee in dresses suitable to wear to a nice dinner.
Everytime she greets us with overwhelming enthusiasm and gestures to an available booth. While all of their staff is friendly, I always cross my fingers that she is the one who serves us. On Saturday, we stopped into Eddie’s for crispy bacon and buttered toast before starting the adventures of our day. The boys ordered coffee, I ordered hot tea - and she brought our mugs back and placed them very delibrately in front of each of us. “I chose these mugs specifically for you” she said with joy in her voice.
And that little gesture had us all swelling with happiness. Ryan, the birthday boy, loving his comparison to Superman - Brent, wondering if maybe his beard made him look villianous like Darth Vader, and Me, eyes all fluttery and wishing a bluebird would land on my finger just like Snow White.
