This blog has been a lot of things. A love story. A new adventure. The journey of a women becoming comfortable with who she is and what she believes in.

I don't write here as often as I used to, but the stories I've left on these pages have made me who I am. I come back occasionally to put down thoughts and stories.

The time I tried to live out a storybook fantasy

Written May 17,2007:

I’m growing a beanstalk. or rather,

I’m saving a beanstalk.

Right outside my bedroom window

a little weed has grown and grown and grown

and almost overnight has become a beanstalk.

minus the beans.

It’s growing right up into the clouds

and twice it’s been threatened to be removed.

Chop it down!

Pull that ugly plant out of the ground!

But I say no.

I like that beanstalk outside my window.

I want to see just how high it will grow.

Currently the stalk is as thick as a broom handle

and about 4.5 feet tall.

If for some reason

one day I disappear and you wonder…

what ever happened to Melissa.

Just know me and my golden egg

are somewhere on a beach in costa rica.

M

Update: My beanstalk fell over when it reached 5 feet tall. Apparently it was a poorly designed beanstalk. I’ve been on the lookout for a sturdier beanstalk ever since, but none of my weeds have made it over a foot or two.
