This blog has been a lot of things. A love story. A new adventure. The journey of a women becoming comfortable with who she is and what she believes in.

I don't write here as often as I used to, but the stories I've left on these pages have made me who I am. I come back occasionally to put down thoughts and stories.

What do you do to your pictures?

I get multiple emails asking this very question every week - I usually respond individually but decided that since I was asked 3 times today that it’s about time that I answered it on my blog.

First things first. I totally cheat.

Oh how I love gorgeous polaroid, lomo, and diana photographs - I prefer the look of a film photograph over a digital one, ten to one… but digital is just so darn convenient when I’m shooting pics daily for my blog.

I take all of my pictures on my digital camera (nothing fancy - just a little Canon PowerShot Elph) and then I upload them into Photobucket.com. There are many of you out there with a masterful knowledge of photoshop - but I never learned how to navigate all of those buttons and options so I had to go with something much more intuitive.

Within Photobucket, the main functions I used to give them that old photo look are:

Under the Effects tab- Bronze and Old Photo are my favorite filters - I recommend using the advanced options at the top to adjust the color appropriately.

Under the Decorate tab- I use the shadow border and round edges borders, adjusting them as needed.

Once you get the hang of it - you can also play with contrast, saturation, etc.

It takes me all of 30 seconds to edit a photo once I used the program on a regular basis.

If you want to take a quicker route - try picnik.com. It isn’t compatible with my Linux OS - but Microsoft users (it may be Mac friendly too) should give it a try. Natasha created some really neat effects with one click vs. all the adjusting required by photobucket.

Happy Editing!
