Ahhhh October! The loveliest of months in the magical land of San Francisco.  October is the month of perfect, sunny days - free music - fighter jets soaring over the skyscrapers - and halloween.

The heavenly tenth month of the year kicks off this weekend with the Hardly Strictly bluegrass festival in Golden Gate. It’s 100% free and features some of the very best in folk, bluegrass, rock and indie music. This year I’m most looking forward to: Gillian Welch, Richie Havens, Robert Earl Keen, Old 97’s, Nick Lowe, Doc Watson, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Perkins, and Old Crow Medicine Show.  We’ll have our blanket out in the grass with a picnic basket full of goodies for Saturday and Sunday’s festivities.
