This blog has been a lot of things. A love story. A new adventure. The journey of a women becoming comfortable with who she is and what she believes in.

I don't write here as often as I used to, but the stories I've left on these pages have made me who I am. I come back occasionally to put down thoughts and stories.

When I was growing up, my parents would mark my brother and I as we grew with a pencil on the center beam in our kitchen. By the time I was headed to college, that beam was covered in the names and dates of our friends and neighbors too. Years and years of growth spurts and memories, marked in lead against the white paint. I think that beam was the thing I was most devastated about losing when my parents sold their house to folks that most definitely painted over a lifetime of  our inches and feet.
Today I stumbled across something that made me smile from ear to ear - This gorgeous heirloom growth chart by Fawn&Forest.  No matter where this wonderful life takes us, we’d never have to leave the growth spurts of our growing family behind. This beautiful boxed set features a burlap strip to hang on any wall, charming red tags to mark names, age, and date, and safety pins to attach them.
I love it so much that it’s provoked me to start a Christmas list. (Already? I know I know!)
So far, it looks something like this:
Dear Santa,
For Christmas I would like:
1. A healthy baby girl
2. An heirloom growth chart
3. New yellow shoes
Love,
Melissa
