This blog has been a lot of things. A love story. A new adventure. The journey of a women becoming comfortable with who she is and what she believes in.

I don't write here as often as I used to, but the stories I've left on these pages have made me who I am. I come back occasionally to put down thoughts and stories.

And now for another episode of “We ain’t fancy, but we still like good food” with Melissa (I should totally pitch this to Food Network - the title alone screams quality television!)
Good afternoon friends. Do you love a good salad as much as I do? Recently I made my favorite salad that consisted of fresh, organic greens, diced apples, boiled egg, bacon, cheddar cheese and grilled cajun chicken. (I am hands down the worst food photographer of all time)
I wanted to share with you guys two of my favorite EASY PEASY go-to homemade vinagrettes  (I’m not a huge fan of bottled salad dressings)
1. Honey dijon vinagrette - get ready for this, it’s a toughy- add equal parts balsamic vinegar, honey, and dijon mustard. whisk together. add a little fresh ground black pepper - and you’re done.
2. Balsamic Blackberry vinagrette - this one is even easier - equal parts balsamic and blackberry jam. whisk together. It’s heaven I tell you!
Most people have all of these ingredients in their kitchen cabinets and nothing beats a fresh dressing over your salad. (and now I’m craving one for lunch!)
Love,
M
