This blog has been a lot of things. A love story. A new adventure. The journey of a women becoming comfortable with who she is and what she believes in.

I don't write here as often as I used to, but the stories I've left on these pages have made me who I am. I come back occasionally to put down thoughts and stories.

I have a great little vintage settee that is in need of some attention. The fabric itself is fine but it’s a cream color and has been passed from mission thrift store, to Kate and Nick’s apartment, to ours and it’s become dingy.  I can’t afford to recover it and am not really thrilled with the boring cream fabric but I want to do something.
I’ve been researching painting or dying the fabric and most of what I’ve read essentially says “don’t do it” - but I’ve also found a few sites that say if you invest in some high quality fabric paints, water them down a bit and use them sparingly that you can successfully update the fabric.
I have two visions in mind - one is stenciling on a big flower pattern in a bright color like yellow or red over the cream fabric. The other is something similar to above - color washing in deeper and lighter shades.
Have any of you ever painted fabric on a piece of furniture? Found a good resource for “how to?”
I don’t want to ruin it, but I am so dang itchy to do something.

Love,
M
